I'd loved to use that train on to Matsue...
However my Limited Express is slightly less elegant.
Arriving at Matsue.
???
A nice shopping street.
A nice coffee house is found right at the river.
Matsue castle is surrounded by a large moat.
The castle is built very nicely.
The original roof parts could not be reused during the restoration.
The huge amount of dark wood in the interior is very impressive.
A small island in the ... sea that is often used for the famous sunset photos.
Viewing platform of the castle.
The stairs are pretty steep and of course only used with slippery socks.
???
Interesting view on the name plates.
Suddenly I run into a Samurai, but fortunately he doesn't want to attack me.
???
Another, much more friendly samurai.
With such a nice view of Matsue it's surely easy to enjoy your tea.
View from castle walls over the moat.
Wall leading to the drum turret.
???
??? Inari
The local sink covers show the entrace of the samurai quarter.
You can do cruises of the moat in small boats.
Entrance to the samurai quarter.
This nice garden belongs to the restaurant where I had my lunch break.
