Arriving at Kinosaki-Onsen.
I've seen this nice train before - in the railway museum.
Just to make sure: the station name in writing.
I start to understand about the importance of crabs for the area of Kinosaki.
An impressive price for a single crab, but then it's really fresh (and still moves).
The second main attraction of Kinosaki is indicated by the geta sandals which are usually used for onsen hopping.
Those crab claws are right in front of the station.
The injured stork is said to have found the healing hot water springs.
I guess they are not fully aware of the meaning of the second part of the product name.
A nice canal stretches through the town.
And the trees really fit well to this canal.

The shopping street is nicely decorated with autumn leafs.
In front of G.. Onsen you can find this stone crab in the pond.
The ropeway takes you up to the Onsen-Ji temple and to a nice view.
The town of Kinosaki and the coast of the sea of Japan in the background.
The walking path around the summit resembles a jungle.
Everything up here is nice and green.
The jungle is only interrupted by a few stone monks.
And these nice spiders can be found here very often as well.
A nice old tree invites for a short rest and relaxing moment.
The Onsen-Ji temple is right in front of the middle station of the ropeway.
Every temple has to have a nice bell.
I am not sure, but it looks as if "the eagle has landed" on the rope of the ropeway.

Frightening figures are guarding the entrance.

That's how people wander from Onsen to Onsen.
Since Onsen are not so easy to depict, they chose the nice stone bridges and lanterns for the sink covers.
The tree is shining brightly in the afternoon sun.
A nice welcome greeting at the Ryokan in form of a match tea with sweets.
The room looks very modern.
Dinner starts with great appetizers.

A nicely decorated (and tasting) salad.
The local speciality comes as an intermediate course.
Fish may not be missing as well.
And the main course is Tajima beef and seafood.
You prepare everything yourselves on the grill.
Rice, pickles and soup are part of a japanese meal anyway.
And a nice gelee for desert.
Time for a night walk through Kinosaki.
The small ... onsen.
A larger ryokan with a nice facade.
The flowers make an even better impression at night.
The trees shine nicely even at night.
The lights mirrored in the water are impressive as well.
One of the famous stone lanterns.
The Sato-no-yu onsen next to the station has a public foot bath.
Everything is advertising the just started crab season at the station.
