The angels are getting ready for the street parade.
The car and balloons are already brightly illuminated for the parade.
And then the parade starts with some balloon burners at the head of the convoy.
The participants have great fun during the parade.
Then the angels follow with their lighted balloons.
The car changes its color all the time.
The balloons change colors as well.
Then some nicely lit (police) motorbikes follow the crowd.
A good orchestra may not be missing for a street parade.
The mayor's reception is organized very nicely.
And lots of food is already waiting for all the participants.
Entrance to the Balloon Fiesta Park from the specially opened train station.
A large crowd has already assembled to watch the balloons flying from the field.
Inflation starts soon so that everyone can watch.
Wondering who had a surprise for his mom?
The first balloons are ready for take off.
And more and more of them are getting ready.
Unfortunately for the spectators they can only see balloons under clouds today.
A nice stone mosaic in the middle of the launch field.
The tribune is fully populated.
Soon a large crowd will try to get home from this station again.
Die special train station is served by all local trains and some express trains during the fiesta.
The first crowd of people now tries to get on the train.
Even with this large crowd, everyone stays behind the yellow line.
Something cool: live TV on your mobile phone featuring a program on my pilot from Saga.
Saga has a nicely restored castle.
However not all of the buildings were reconstructed, for some you can only see the layout.
This building has reused some original pieces when it was rebuilt.
A nice view through the corner of this building.
The interior is nicely decorated.
The combination of "simple interior and nice nature outside" always appeals to me.
Also for the outside look of the tree with the wooden walls.
Purely geometric lines dominate these interiors.
Sometimes they are playing with unusual shapes.
A love message from the castle garden keeper.
The majestic main entrance of the castle.
Originally a major part of this place was built up as well.
As you can easily see, Saga Castle is a flat castle, not a towering one like most other Japanese castles.
This major concrete construction sin houses a sports place.
The old shopping street of Saga is decorated with many balloons.
You can see Saga's strong relationship to balloons even on the walkways.
Task briefing in Saga.
The dark clouds and the wind are not very promising for the night glow tonight.
The setting sun lights up the railway bridge in a very special light.
The train reflects the sun even more magically.
The 2011 Saga International Balloon Fiesta is waiting for the night glow to start.
Tonight we only have the burner show as the wind is blowing much to strong.
The grand final of the nightglow is always the fireworks.
"Kampai" at the observer's table during the awards ceremony.
And the winner is Zoltan Nemeth from Hungary.
We're finished as well - all plates emptied.
